Hi... I just managed to finish an update script for updating the
core from version 1.3.1 to the (planned) version 1.4.0_rc1.

The script has 2081 lines of code, making it the biggest core
update script since beginning of development!

I will review it next days and hopefully be able to tag the
state as 1.4.0_rc1.
