List of members should have button/link to “become a member”

In the list of members, for example

there should be a button or link to add myself as a member. The link or button could say “Become a member”.

I could not find any UI at all anywhere to become a member. I think this is the most obvious place where most people will be looking for it.

I just installed LiquidFeedback 2.2.2 on Debian Wheezy as provided in the great list of instructions on the wiki, but I too am stymied by the UI. How do I add members, or invite people to become members?
